Client Album & Testimonials
As I sit down to write this testimonial, I’m not even sure I will have the proper words to express how I truly feel. My meeting of Sarah can only be described as Fate. I had gotten myself into a bit of a tricky situation. I was a novice, bought a pony that was a bit too green for my experience, and I ended up at a livery that was run by someone who didn’t know what they were doing. After 3 months-my sweet pony had turned into an absolute nervous wreck. He was edgy, grumpy, and became quite naughty. My confidence was demolished, and I was ready to give up entirely. I was lucky enough to have friends (and knowledgeable horse people) tell me the problem was likely our environment. I was given Sarah's contact information, and within minutes of meeting with her I knew we had to move to The Mill. Within two days of our move, Bea was incredibly more relaxed. The atmosphere at The Mill is quiet, and calm-which is exactly what he needed. The attention to the care of all the horses is nothing short of amazing. The staff are all extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind. The horses are in a very healthy routine, with the best feed plan that fits each of their needs. Sarah is incredibly knowledgeable, and within days of us arriving, Sarah knew Bea was in pain. We are lucky enough to have a vet on-site, and it was confirmed that Bea was very lame. Sarah and The Mill were so supportive of me during some very difficult decisions. After tests, a surgery, an infected wound, and a long recovery-I am happy to report that Bea is a happy pony without pain. His rehab work is going extremely well with the help of Sarah and the staff at The Mill. Sarah is an amazing teacher. She can make you feel like you have accomplished something great-even if all you did in the lesson is walk-trot! You know that you were finally doing it properly in the end! Her knowledge, and expertise in sharing that knowledge really helped me regain my confidence after I had lost it. Not just with riding, but with handling horses in general. I had gotten to such a low point-that even grooming Bea scared me. I also truly respect Sarah for her honesty. She will tell you when you need to do something differently-only because she truly wants everyone to do things properly for the best interest of themselves, and the horses. Without Sarah, and The Mill-I very likely would have given up on Bea, and horses in general. He has been given a chance for a good life, and I have been given my confidence, and love of horses back. I am forever grateful to Sarah for her kindness, attention to detail, honesty, knowledge, humour, and intuition with horses....and people. Saving Bea and I was truly an act of a kind heart, and a touch of Fate.
